Canes lost 4-0 against Montreal.
The first period of this game was okay, but it went downhill after that. The Canes were 0-for-8 on the power play and let Montreal score two short-handed goals.
Special teams help, anyone?
The only thing the Canes did with consistency last night was miss the net. They missed the net 20 times, many of them good goal chances. If Huet had faced 20 extra shots, the outcome of this game might've been different.
Might've. Letting in two short-handed is pretty bad news.
Chad Larose was the best player on the ice last night. At times he seemed like the only player actually trying to do something with the puck. Must've been riding that high he got from getting his first point of the season against Atlanta.
Anyways... Let's go away from the gloom of last night. Ron Francis was appointed "Director of Player Development", which means that he'll assess and work with people in the Canes system.
