Canes won over Ottawa 3-2.
This game was probably the first game since last year that the Canes seemed to get steadily better as the game went on.
The first period the Canes seemed sluggish, and that went on into the beginning of the second. But after the midpoint of the second (approximately), where the Canes were down 2-0, they seemed to step it up and my man Erik Cole scored a power play goal (on Brind'Amour's 1000th point). After that, the Canes were off and running and they dominated the third, Ray Whitney scored one to tie, and then Whitney scoring again on a 5-on-3 to take the lead.
Man, it was nice to see a come-from-behind victory.
Nice to see Brind'Amour get that 1000th tally, too. Shame it couldn't come at home, though.
Erik Cole stats: 1 goal, 2 assists
On the season: 3 goals, 8 assists
