Canes win 2-1 in overtime. With this win, the Canes eliminate the Canadiens and advance to the second round to play the New Jersey Devils. (Yuck.)
Cory Stillman scored the game winner 1:19 into the overtime, scoring from a shot that was tipped by a Montreal defenseman. (Whoops! Oh well.) The other Canes goal was scored by Mark Recchi in the first. The Canes played okay. I honestly can't remember the specific problems, but I do remember that they didn't play as well as they had in the previous games. Cam Ward was awesome, spectactular, marvelous, amazing, terrific, and a bunch of other similies. Cam was probably the reason the Canes won this series.
Now the Canes are set to play the New Jersey Devils, a team they've met twice before in the playoffs. Devils are riding an absurd 15 game winning streak - Canes have won 4 in a row, but have home-ice advantage. I expect a good, long series from this matchup.
