Canes play streaking Panthers tonight

Canes play Florida tonight.

Florida has been on a hot streak recently, going 7-1-2 in their last ten games. They are currently in 13th place in the East, but only 5 points out of a playoff spot.
And this is after they traded away Gary Roberts and Todd Bertuzzi.

As for the Canes, Cam Ward is expected to be out with the laceration for at least a week. John Grahame will take up the slack while he's gone, with Craig Kowalski being called up from the ECHL to be Grahame's backup.

Meanwhile... In Pittsburgh, the Penguins have reached a deal on a new arena, enabling them to stay in Pittsburgh.

Please exuse my ignorance, but what was wrong with Pittsburgh? I heard something about a possible move, but I never found out why...

It's all complicated, and I didn't really follow it that closely but...
Mellon Arena is something like 40 years old. Pens wanted a new stadium. Threatened to leave if they didn't get one. Pens got a new stadium.
I think there was something about selling the team, and the new owners moving them, but that's the part I didn't follow.

I see. Mellon Arena is a horrible name. I don't like all the arenas named after banks and stuff, but Mellon Arena? I new it was called that before, but that just reminded me.
