Canes lost 4-2 to the Senators last night, due to their amazing new-found abililty to lose leads in their own building.
And, it is rather ill-timed for the Canes to develop a skill at lead-losing, seeing as the Canes are now 9th in the Eastern Conference and out of the proverbial playoff picture.
The Hurricanes actually played pretty decent in the first two periods, scoring the two goals of the night in 19 seconds. Grahame looked pretty sharp in net.
So, we are left with the question: What is prohibiting the Hurricanes from holding their leads in the RBC Center? They seem to have no problem on the road - the Canes won 4 out of their last 5 road games in Feburary. At home, though, they are 2-4-1 for the second month of 2007.
This is depressing.
Meanwhile... the trade deadline came and went and the Hurricanes stayed where they were. If you're interested, click here for a list of trades.
