The Definition of Inconsistency

Well, the Canes played well Friday, winning 6-2 over the C[r]apitals.
Then, they turned around and played like crap Saturday, losing 7-4 to the same team.

I'll start with Friday.

Friday, the Canes got out to a 2-0 start, led 2-1 at the end of the first and had a three goal second period. The game was physical - Scott Walker fought with Chris Clark, and Erik Cole looked like he was ready to go with Brian Sutherby before the linesmen got in the way.
I thought the game was well-played overall.

Then came Saturday.

Saturday, the Canes let Washington get out to a 3-0 lead 12:00 minutes into the first, all unassisted giveaways.
Then the Canes got back into it, getting it down to a one-goal deficit at the end of the first.
The offense pretty much died there. After that, there were essentially no good points to the game.

Although, congrats are in order to Erik Cole, who got his 100th NHL goal.

Erik Cole stats (Friday): 1 assist
Erik Cole stats (Saturday): 1 goal (100th of career)
On the season: 22 goals, 25 assists
