My question is, did anyone think anything different? Of course season ticket sales are going to go up after the team wins the Stanley Cup. Not to mention it was a year after a lockout, so ticket sales must've been down last year.
Evgeni Malkin is not in Russia and he is probably safe. But no one knows where he really is - or they're not saying. The guy hasn't even talked to his parents!
Anyways, his Russian team, Metallurg Magnitogorsk, (I can't pronounce that) is really P.O.ed (I don't blame 'em) and will be taking legal action against the "NHL club Penguins from Pittsburgh". Although, if Malkin just picked up and left, is it really the Penguins fault? Especially if he hasn't made a contract with the team yet?
Anyways, the team's general director had this to say:
"Americans like to speak about democracy and teach the whole world how to live but engage in sport terrorism and simply steal people."Sport terrorism! That's just hilarious! (Doesn't it just make you laugh out loud? Well, I laughed.)
Anyways... That's about it for today, folks.
