YaY!!!! The Hurricanes signed Peter Laviolette to a five-year contract today! This means he and his assistants will be with the team until 2011.
Super-cool. I'm glad they don't have to worry about Laviolette going to another team until that time. Plus, the re-signing of the assistants keeps the team together.
Meanwhile, NHL.com has a cool article on the person chosen last in the draft, Justin Krueger, who was chosen by the Canes.
Would you want to be known as the person chosen last? One more pick away from free agency, and you're chosen. Well, I guess it's better to be drafted than to go around known as someone who went undrafted.
