Canes lost 4-3. Really, I think it was all the crappy penalties they took in the first and second. Yes, believe it or not, the refs were actually calling penalties in this game. This game was not Cam Ward's fault. NOT! It was the penalties, and just the fact of crappy play that made the Canes lose, not the goalie. Actually, Martin Gerber didn't look too bad when he came in for Ward, but I still go with Ward in Game 4.
This is not the end of the world, but the Canes need to win Game 4 so the series will be tied when they go back to Carolina. If not... well, they could pull a 3-1 comeback off, but we really don't want to be in that situation, do we?
Good news! (Well, relatively... actually it's kinda mean that I'm calling it good, but... the playoffs aren't for nice people, are they?) Henrik Tallinder is out with a broken arm. It might be horrible, but this is good news for the Canes because it streches Buffalo's defensive forces even thinner - they might be forced to move a forward to defense!
To win Game 4, Canes need to control their amount of penalties. Cam Ward needs to come back strong as ever. Canes need to get some offense. And they need to improve their power play.
Meanwhile, the Cane-Vic roadtrip continues.
