Canes take lead in series

Canes won Saturday - blew out Jersey 6-0! Canes now lead the series 1-0.
This is amazing. I never, ever would have predicted this. Martin Brodeur was pulled from the goal for the first time in 2 1/2 years. With this win, the Canes snapped Jersey's 15-win streak, while extending their own to five.
The first period of the game was tightly played, Canes pulling away with one goal. The second period is where Jersey began to fall apart, with the Canes scoring two goals on a 5-on-3. After that the Canes were off and running for the rest of the game. Mike Commodore had a fight in the third period. Which has no connection to the sentence before it, but that's okay.
I expect Jersey will want to avenge this game tomorrow in Game 2. They'll probably come out skating and the game'll be tightly played, like the first period of Saturday's game. NHL.com has an article about this linked to right... here.

Yep.
