More losses

Well, there is one thing to be said about this season and that is that winning streaks never last very long.

The Canes lost to Detroit 3-1 on Thursday. Which isn't surprising as the franchise hasn't won a regular season game in Joe Louis Arena since 1989.

Penalties were what killed the Canes in this one, as two of Detroit's three goals were on the power play. Tom Kostopoulos scored in the third to make it a little interesting, but one goal isn't enough to beat the Red Wings.

The Canes responded after their loss to the Wings with another loss on Saturday to the Thrashers. The game wasn't on TV, so there's not much insight I can lend other than Eric Staal missed a penalty shot opportunity in the second.

Good news for the Canes: Chad LaRose has been activated from injured reserve and will likely play in tonight's game against the Lightning.

But it begs the question - If Erik Cole was initially out for 2-3 weeks and LaRose for 3-4... when is Erik going to get back in the lineup?
