Canes had a good showing for their last appearance in Montreal this season, winning 5-1 on Saturday. The scoring started off early when my man Erik Cole scored just three minutes into the first period. Montreal was as close as 2-1 in the game, but the Canes were able to play the whole game and win! (That's two games in a row now! Scary, isn't it?)
Today the Canes took on the team with the best record in the NHL - the Detroit Red Wings. And, of course, the game wasn't on FSN because of - what else? - ACC basketball. (Not even good ACC basketball at that - Boston College against Maryland...)
So, I saw none of the 5-2 loss to the Red Wings. It appears like the game was tied at 2-2 in the second period (Two Erik Cole goals!), so I can assume the Canes played at least decently for the first half of the game.
Next game is Wednesday against the Senators.
