Canes won against the Islanders 4-2.
In the win, Eric Staal scored for the first time in 10 games, Williams notched a goal, and Erik Cole got two.
Erik also missed on a first period penalty shot. As quoted in the N&O article: "I just whiffed on it".
What makes this win even more remarkable is that the Canes played the entire game with only 5 defensemen.
